We slept well on the redeye flight, woke up to the beautiful rising sun while flying over snowy Greenland. Typically when the sun rises, you see the light hitting the land or spread out. But no... The sun looked more like the moon because the sky remained dark. Sometimes passengers on Norwegian Air can see the northern lights from the plane if it's a lucky day... That would be a dream of we could see the Aurora Borealis from the plane!
We arrived at the Stockholm, Sweden airport at around 5pm Swedish time where it was a warm 30 degrees. And it was completely dark and the ground was covered with snow. I wouldn't mind staying in Sweden a while longer. It looked so magical and a scene from the movie Frozen.
Last year, we applied for our free Priority Pass for all the airport VIP lounges around the world, which was part of our Amex Platinum card benefits. We wanted to have a place to rest comfortably in airports if we had layovers or down time in airports. This came in handy on our first stop: we avoided the crowded waiting areas and hung out at Menzies VIP Lounge to wait for our connecting flight to Barcelona. It was stocked with complimentary wine, beer, cheese (my fave!), cured meats, snacks and fruits and comfy areas to rest. Not bad!
Anyhow, we hope to blog our Round the World trip for our own memories, and also for family and friends who want to get updates while we are traveling abroad. Free wifi on Norwegian Air is 👍
